White BBQ Sauce
The first White BBQ Sauce I ever had was from Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q in Atlanta. We catered a company event and brought in a full spread of their pulled pork, beef brisket, and smoked chicken. Along with the meat, they provided three distinct BBQ Sauces, one of which was White BBQ Sauce. It seemed odd and quite appealing to this girl who loves all things creamy. Holy Wow! was the first thing I thought when I tasted it. We have since recreated this mayonnaise & vinegar based BBQ sauce at home. It’s creamy yes, but has a nice punch from the horseradish and creole mustard. Black pepper and garlic round out the depth of flavor.…

Herbed Scrambled Eggs {in Avocado Boats}
There was a cooking show on Food Network a while back that we really liked. I can’t recall the name of it, but the host would always feature the ‘obedient ingredient.’ That’s exactly what I did this morning. I bought a few too many avocados this week so I’m turning them into serving vessels. Our Herbed Scrambled Eggs were quite happy in their avocado boats.

Parmesan & Herb Broiled Grouper {on Wilted Spinach}
If you’re looking for an easy and delicious seafood dish that’s both light and satisfying, Parmesan & Herb Broiled Grouper on Wilted Spinach is the answer! Combine mayo with parmesan cheese, fresh herbs, Mrs. Dash, salt & pepper. Preheat broiler to high. Broil fillet for 8 minutes, then remove from oven and turn over. Coat with Parmesan Herb mixture. Place under broiler for another minute or until topping is golden and bubbly. Unctuous.

Loaded Egg Salad
Loaded Egg Salad. Mom taught us how to make really good egg salad. Finely chopped eggs, celery, scallion, mayonnaise, salt & pepper. Nothing complicated just finely done. That’s all I’ve ever wanted in an egg salad. Until my birthday lunch out with Shelby.

Inside Out Fresh Herb Omelet
This Inside Out Fresh Herb Omelet was my Healthy Choice post-workout meal. Four weeks ago today I arrived at the office with workout clothes in hand (after taking 4 months off). I was committed to getting back into an exercise routine and knew I would need the encouragement of teammates to keep me on track. So when the lunchtime walking crew lined up to head out, I followed right along. Well actually I lagged behind a good bit, but I did it. A 2.61 mile power walk in 40 minutes.

Beef Carpaccio {a Birthday Tradition}
My birthday week is officially winding down. It began last Saturday with a wonderful dinner, made especially for me. I have for three years in a row now requested that one of my favorite dishes, is made for my birthday dinner, Beef Carpaccio. And so because I believe that after three repeats of an event it becomes a tradition, Beef Carpaccio is now a Birthday Tradition.

Roasted Spring Vegetables {featuring Radishes}
Roasted Spring Vegetables I was so pleasantly surprised to learn how wonderful radishes are when oven roasted. It never even occurred to me to cook them. To me radishes were only served as part of a veggie tray. Growing up, I remember mom making ‘radish roses’ and serving them on a nibble tray during the cocktail hour. I tried to like them. Just didn’t.

Green Goddess Salad {with Homemade Green Goddess Dressing}
Our Green Goddess Salad is really all about the homemade Green Goddess Dressing. Yet, the addition of lightly blanched fresh green beans, celery leaves and fresh basil to our buttery Boston Bibb lettuce did make this salad better than your garden variety.

Egg Salad {an exercise in love}
Egg Salad. Made with love. Really, is there any other way to make it? Finely chopped hard-boiled eggs tossed with celery and scallion that’s been given equal attention, blended with mayonnaise, salt & pepper. Simply love.
