Spicy Green Sauce
Our new love of North African flavors has led us to discover a unique blend of spices and ingredients. This Spicy Green Sauce from City Kitchen,called chermoula offers just that. A slightly spicy pesto-like sauce that infuses the heat of serrano peppers, with the very bright and green flavors of lots of fresh cilantro and scallions, and finishes with a hint of tart lemon zest. We paired this sauce initially with our North African Chicken, but are certain it would be delicious with fish, beef, or lamb.

Cavatappi with Browned Brussels Sprouts and Buttery Breadcrumbs
I love a fall harvest dinner made with a star ingredient like Brussels sprouts. Once the only vegetable on my won’t-eat-foods list, the Brussels sprout has soared to the top of my favorite-food list. In the fall-winter months we seriously have them multiple times per week. I was flipping through my new Cooking Light magazine and without even reading the recipe I bookmarked the page for Cavatappi with Browned Brussels Sprouts and Buttery Breadcrumbs.

Chicken in Milk
To quote Jamie Oliver, Chicken in Milk is “a slightly odd, but really fantastic combination that must be tried.” A couple years ago we began what’s now a weekly ritual of cooking a whole chicken. Not only do we enjoy a mouth-watering chicken dinner each week, but we then turn bones into broth, and broth into amazing soups and stews. It was B who first discovered Chicken in Milk by Jamie Oliver. In an attempt to change it up each week (Ooo I like that…the “Chicken Change Up”) he began to read endless websites searching for new and interesting whole chicken recipes. There are a ton of them to try….but…

Lemon Blackberry Vinaigrette
Creating wonderful vinaigrettes or marinades is so easy when you have these beautiful ingredients to work with. I started with Peppercorn & Balsamic Poached Pears which yielded a wonderful balsamic reduction to use as the base for my vinaigrette.
